Google Wallet has undergone a significant redesign aimed at enhancing user convenience.
Improvements have been made in card management, introducing new features such as search capabilities and additional sorting options. Nonetheless, adding new cards to favorites remains somewhat cumbersome, requiring multiple steps.
Previously, it was reported that Google Wallet users have encountered issues with the app. Several users have noted a glitch causing the app to flicker uncontrollably, rendering it unusable. Additionally, the “Diia” service now offers insights into one’s property and suggests tax payments, showcasing its functionality.
The interface has shifted from a list view to a new grid layout. This change allows users to see multiple cards and passes at once, eliminating endless scrolling. This is particularly beneficial for those who store numerous cards and payment tools in Google Wallet.
The card detail view interface has also been revamped. The focus is now on visual elements, while the numbers and other identification details are displayed in a smaller format. A new feature for marking favorite cards with a star has been introduced, allowing them to be pinned directly to the main screen. Users can rearrange their order by dragging them.
Google is currently rolling out the app update gradually. As of now, the new version of the digital wallet is not yet available on all devices. Despite the somewhat inconvenient “Favorites” feature, Reddit users have generally praised the app’s redesign. Many believe that this update was overdue.
