  • Latest Windows 11 Update Delivers Exciting New Features and Enhancements

    Microsoft has rolled out another update for Windows 11, which this time focuses on enhancements rather than security fixes.

    This update is available across all Windows 11 versions, including 26H1, 25H2, and 24H2. It brings a variety of new features and improvements to the entire operating system, such as support for monitors with refresh rates of 1000 Hz and higher.

    The installation of this update is not mandatory, allowing users to skip it if the new features do not interest them.

    Previously, it was reported that applications on Windows “hang” 7.5 times more frequently than on macOS. However, Microsoft is targeting a fix for one of the most annoying issues in Windows 11.

    The Smart App Control (SAC) feature, which helps block unreliable or potentially dangerous applications, was announced by Microsoft earlier this year and is now being implemented. Additionally, the update enhances the functionality of File Explorer. Specifically, it improves the reliability of unlocking files downloaded from the internet for viewing in File Explorer. Users can now utilize voice commands (Windows + H) to rename files in File Explorer. In the “Advanced Security Settings” window for folders in File Explorer, access rights entries can now be sorted by principal.

    Microsoft is introducing these and other features gradually. However, some updates will be immediately available upon installation, including improvements to the voice assistant. The stability of the Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) is enhanced when running 64-bit applications on ARM64 architecture devices, ensuring smoother and more responsive operation.

    A problem in Windows 11 version 25H2, where updates installed via the standalone Windows Update installer (WUSA) could fail with an ERROR_BAD_PATHNAME code, has been resolved. This issue could arise when double-clicking a .msu file or running WUSA from a network resource containing multiple .msu files.

    Microsoft has also addressed a method involving NVMe to boost Windows 11 performance.

    According to a UDN report, ASUS intends to increase PC prices by 30%, with the hike primarily affecting the Taiwanese market. Nonetheless, this will also impact the pricing of the company’s products in other regions.

    Given the current trajectory of the situation, the budget PC segment might disappear in the coming years. At present, increasing prices seems to be the only viable strategy for maintaining market position.

    Previously, we reported that gaming PCs would face a price increase of 15-30%. Analysts have also predicted when memory market prices might stabilize.

    HP notes that memory now accounts for 35% of PC production costs—double compared to the previous year.

    The report further highlights that PC manufacturers are facing challenging times maintaining supply chains. The memory shortage, combined with rising SSD prices and a scarcity of processors and graphics cards, is exerting pressure on profitability. Manufacturers are in a difficult position as they strive to ensure consistent supply to consumer markets.

    Intel has launched its latest desktop processors, the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, aiming to refresh the Arrow Lake lineup.

    In performance comparisons, Intel matches the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus against the Ryzen 7 9700X, and the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus against the Ryzen 5 9600X. In multi-threaded environments, these Plus models boast a twofold performance increase across various workloads. This is unsurprising given the competition between a 24-core processor and an 8-core/16-thread and an 18-core and a 6-core/12-thread setup.

    Intel also benchmarks the gaming performance of the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus against its predecessor, the Core Ultra 7 265K Plus. The 270K Plus achieves double-digit performance improvements in several games at 1080p resolution, surpassing the 265K by an average of approximately 15%.

    Similarly, the Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, on average, shows a 13% increase in gaming performance over the Core Ultra 5 245K, with significant improvements noted.

    The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus will be available at a suggested retail price of $299, while the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus will be priced at $199.

    Previously, we reported on the Xiaomi Book 14, which weighs under 1 kg and will feature up to 32 GB of memory and new Intel Panther Lake processors. Intel has also confirmed the existence of the Arc Pro B70.

Boost frequencies for all cores are 5.1 GHz for P-cores and 4.6 GHz for E-cores. It has 36 MB of L2 cache and 30 MB of L3 cache, with a D2D frequency of 3.0 GHz and 4 iGPU cores at 1.9 GHz. Average power consumption is 159 W.

    Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17e, marking the latest addition to its range of budget-friendly smartphones. This announcement is part of a series of presentations the company initiated this week.

    The iPhone 17e is powered by the new A19 processor. It also includes support for MagSafe and the Qi2 standard for wireless charging, with a capacity of up to 15W. This advancement ensures compatibility with current magnetic accessories and enables faster wireless charging without the need for additional adapters.
