Festival Playlist and New Player Accessibility
As the release of Forza Horizon 6 approaches on May 19, Playground Games is gradually revealing more about the game through a Discord Q&A session.
Some of the cars will be part of the aftermarket system, scattered across the map at set locations. These are available for purchase, though each player’s selection of active cars will differ. The Forza Edition variants will remain elusive treasures.
The previously known Forzathon Live has been rebranded as Stunt Party. The starting vehicle for the Eliminator mode is the 1984 Honda City. A closed area, Legend Island, will feature its own outpost, events, and the starting point for the game’s longest track, the 80-kilometer “Goliath”. The radio station lineup will be announced before the game launches.
Forza Horizon 6 will be available on May 19 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, with Premium Edition owners gaining early access from May 15. A PS5 version will follow later this year. Previously, we discussed the Japanese setting of the game map and the prologue gameplay, featuring the Toyota GR GT and a race against the Shinkansen.
Design director Torben Ellert has confirmed that touge battles will be one-on-one duels on five designated mountain passes. In single-player mode, each route has its rival, parked at the starting point. These battles are separate from the main festival progression, allowing players to engage in them at any time. The online mode will introduce a dedicated championship with a rotating schedule of duels across all five routes.

The Festival Playlist becomes available roughly an hour into the gameplay — once players reach the festival. Playground Games also confirmed that cars from previous playlists will be obtainable after their respective seasons end. This departs from Forza Horizon 5’s mechanics, where limited cars were unavailable for years until 2025 when the studio allowed them to be purchased. The exact method for reintroducing these cars hasn’t been disclosed yet, but it’s positive news for PS5 players who don’t start the game in its first week.
System requirements for Forza Horizon 6 have been announced.
