NVIDIA Unveils the GeForce RTX 5070 Mobile with 12GB GDDR7 Memory

NVIDIA has officially introduced the mobile version of its GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card, featuring 12GB of GDDR7 memory.

In late April, NVIDIA finally confirmed the existence of the mobile RTX 5070 and announced its upcoming market release. Interestingly, this new model was revealed in conjunction with the latest update to GeForce Game Ready drivers, rather than through a separate announcement.

Previously, it was reported that MSI showcased a laptop equipped with the new NVIDIA RTX 5070 12GB. In Europe, the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB has reached a price parity with the RTX 5070.

The new graphics card is designed to fill the gap between the existing RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti models. However, according to XMG, its price could rival the already released 5070 Ti. The public became aware of the GeForce RTX 5070 for laptops following announcements by Lenovo and MSI, which featured devices with this new GPU. Nevertheless, NVIDIA had not made any official statements.

The mobile RTX 5070 boasts GDDR7 memory modules, offering 3GB more than the existing version’s 2GB. However, the company has yet to disclose the full technical specifications. According to NVIDIA, the new models are expected to start shipping around June. The first laptops to feature this new graphics card will be the XMG Apex 16 Max and Apex 17, MSI Crosshair 16 Max HX E2WGXK, and Lenovo’s Legion Pro 5 16ADR10, Legion Pro 5 16IRX10, LOQ 15IRX10, and LOQ 17IRX10.

Are Lenovo and Asus hinting at the arrival of NVIDIA’s new model in their laptops?

“The demand for graphics cards remains high, yet memory supply is limited. To enhance memory availability, we are launching the GeForce RTX 5070 for laptops in 12GB and 24GB G7 configurations. This provides our partners with access to an additional memory pool, complementing the 16GB G7 that is currently supplied with most GeForce graphics cards. The 12GB configuration will coexist with the current 8GB version, enabling our partners to offer consumers a broader range of laptops featuring the GeForce RTX 5070,” NVIDIA stated in their release.
