Intel Wildcat Lake Benchmarked Against Apple A18 Pro: Performance of the Affordable Core 5 320

The budget-friendly Intel Core 5 320, part of the Wildcat Lake series, has made its first appearance in the PassMark database, showcasing its performance capabilities.

This Intel processor features 6 cores and 6 threads, comprising 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, along with 6 MB of L3 cache. In testing, it scored 15,222 in the CPU Mark and 4,047 in single-threaded performance. While its single-thread performance nearly matches that of Apple’s A18 Pro found in the MacBook Neo, the Core 5 320 outpaces it by 27% in multi-threaded tasks.

The Wildcat Lake series will also include built-in Xe3 graphics for budget Intel laptops. However, the Core 5 320 is equipped with only 2 Xe cores compared to Lunar Lake’s 8. Despite this, the Core 5 320 achieved a score of 2,746 compared to 5,133.

Currently, laptops with Wildcat Lake CPUs are not yet available for purchase.

Previously, new results for the Wildcat Lake processor appeared on Geekbench, and Intel is reportedly preparing a processor with NVIDIA RTX graphics under the Serpent Lake codename.

Intel is preparing to compete with the MacBook Neo, as the first notebook featuring Wildcat Lake has been spotted.

It’s worth noting that while the A19 Pro leads in single-thread performance with 5,177 points compared to the Core 5 320’s 4,047, the Intel processor slightly surpasses it in multi-threaded performance with 15,222 points against the A19 Pro’s 14,837.
