Recent insider leaks have revealed the initial performance results of the Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset on Geekbench 6.
Despite potential performance throttling due to overheating, the Dimensity 9600 Pro is set to feature the new ARM Magni GPU, LPDDR6 RAM, and UFS 5.0 storage. It’s essential to bear in mind that engineering samples are often designed to operate beyond the maximum specifications of final consumer products.
Previously, we reported on emerging details regarding MediaTek’s forthcoming Dimensity 9600 Pro mobile processor. Recently, OPPO introduced the K15 Pro+ featuring the Dimensity 9500s and an 8000mAh battery.
During extensive use, it is likely that the chipset’s frequency will be reduced to conserve energy, meaning performance improvements will mainly be observed in shorter benchmark tests like Geekbench 6. According to preliminary information, MediaTek intends to employ a “2+3+3” processor configuration.

The test results show that the Dimensity 9600 Pro is 25% faster than the A19 Pro, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and its predecessor, the Dimensity 9500. It’s anticipated to be among the first chipsets produced using TSMC’s 2nm “N2P” process, supporting higher clock speeds of around 5 GHz for significant enhancements in both single-core and multi-core performance.
The latest MediaTek processor prototype was evaluated on Geekbench 6. According to insider Digital Chat Station on Weibo, it scored between 4200 and 4300 in single-core tests and between 12000 and 12500 in multi-core tests. These figures slightly exceed those of the previous SoC version, indicating MediaTek’s continuous efforts to improve both single-thread and multi-thread processing capabilities.
MediaTek’s alterations to the processor cluster have enabled the Dimensity 9600 Pro to showcase a notable performance boost, as it now includes two 5 GHz cores instead of one. However, a significant drawback of this configuration remains the notable heat generation and high power consumption.
Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Turbo 5 Max with the new Dimensity 9500s chip.
