S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 to Release First Major DLC ‘Price of Hope’ in Summer 2026

GSC Game World has officially announced the upcoming DLC for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, titled “Price of Hope,” set to expand the game with new regions, extensive gameplay, and the continuation of Skif’s story on PC, Xbox, and PS5 platforms.

The Zone calls once again. GSC Game World revealed that the first major narrative expansion for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, known as “Price of Hope,” is slated for release in the summer of 2026. This DLC will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and PlayStation 5.

At the core of this conflict is the enduring rivalry between “Duty” and “Freedom.” The former views the Zone as a threat needing elimination, while the latter sees it as an opportunity. The fragile truce between these factions is on the verge of breaking — and “Price of Hope” explores the tensions that could cause it to unravel.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 DLC introduces two fresh regions. The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant makes a return to the game; it had been inaccessible for decades, even within the confines of the Zone, but its doors will now open. The second area is the Iron Forest, a new location filled with its own hubs, quests, and activities. The arsenal will be expanded with new weapons and equipment designed to tackle the dense mutant and anomaly presence in these areas.

“Price of Hope” is not the conclusion, but rather a midpoint in the saga. GSC confirms that additional expansions will be released in parts, creating a “second trilogy” within the series. More details on subsequent story DLCs will be shared later, but it is clear that GSC intends to keep the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 audience engaged for a long time.

Players will once again step into the shoes of Skif, but this time his tale will unfold parallel to the main storyline of “Heart of Chernobyl.” Upon installing the expansion, a signal on the PDA will trigger a new narrative path during gameplay — seamlessly integrated, without separate menus or breaks. GSC promises dozens of hours of nonlinear gameplay, where every decision has consequences not only within the Zone but beyond.
