Kia has revealed the pricing and final specifications for its new electric vehicle, the EV2, while simultaneously opening up for orders in Europe. Surprisingly, the new model is priced more competitively than initially anticipated.
The EV2 is available in three distinct trims: Air, Earth, and GT-Line, and offers two battery options for consumers to choose from.
Following the trend of its predecessors, the EV2 is built on the E-GMP platform, albeit with a 400-volt architecture to keep costs down. The vehicle can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. Additionally, the Kia EV2 includes bidirectional charging capabilities, essentially allowing it to serve as a mobile power source.
The base model of the Kia EV2 is priced at €26,600 in Europe, lower than the expected €30,000.
Kia positions the EV2 as a “new entry point into electric mobility.” With a length slightly exceeding 4000 mm, it is even more compact than the Volkswagen ID.3 and Chevy Bolt EV. Despite its smaller size, Kia assures a spacious interior. The EV2 features a 2565 mm wheelbase and a flat floor, providing ample room inside. Rear passengers enjoy up to 958 mm of legroom, closely comparable to that of the Kia Soul. The trunk offers a capacity of 403 liters.
Following the EV4, the EV2 is the second electric vehicle to be manufactured at Kia’s Slovakian plant. Production of the basic version commenced last month, while versions with larger batteries and the GT-Line are slated for release in June 2026. The EV2 is positioned below the EV3, which has quickly become a best-seller in Europe.
Inside, the EV2 features Kia’s signature ccNC multimedia system with three screens: two 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and multimedia, and a separate 5.3-inch screen for climate control. The vehicle also offers integrated route planning via Kia Charge, Plug & Charge support, and over-the-air updates.
The first electric hatchback, Kia EV4, launched in Europe with a notable range and starting price of $47,700.
