Amazon Prime has released the first image from the upcoming God of War series, showcasing Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as Atreus.<\/p>\n
Frederick Toye, known for his work on \u201cShogun,\u201d \u201cThe Boys,\u201d and \u201cFallout,\u201d will direct the initial episodes of the series. Filming for God of War is set to begin in March in Vancouver, although the premiere date remains unannounced.<\/p>\n

The cast also features Ed Skrein as Baldur, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Olafur Darri Olafsson as Thor, Max Parker as Heimdall, and Teresa Palmer as Sif. Additionally, Alastair Duncan returns as Mimir, Danny Woodburn as Brok, and Jeff Gulka as Sindri.<\/p>\n

Sony and Amazon have agreed to adapt two seasons inspired by the popular PlayStation game rooted in Norse mythology. The plot, crafted by showrunner and executive producer Ronald Moore, centers on Kratos and Atreus, a father-son duo on a mission to scatter the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their shared journey, Kratos aims to teach his son to become a better god, whereas Atreus helps his father embrace his humanity.<\/p>\n
Though unfamiliar with the gaming world, Ronald Moore has promised an epic and heartfelt narrative. Amazon has also bolstered its writing team with the addition of Tanya Lotia, known for her work on \u201cThe Witcher\u201d and \u201cInvincible.\u201d The series was first announced in December 2022, but within two years, showrunner Rafe Judkins and executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus departed the project after the initial scripts were completed.<\/p>\n
