  • Introducing Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+: Enhanced Displays, Bigger Batteries, and Advanced AI Capabilities

During the 2026 Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco, Samsung unveiled its latest models, the Galaxy S26 and S26+. A notable partner for the broadcast?

Unlike the previous series, which featured flagship Snapdragon chips in all smartphones, the Galaxy S26 and S26+ are powered by the Exynos 2600 2 nm chip. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is reserved for the Galaxy S26 Ultra and devices intended for the American and Chinese markets.

The Galaxy S26 boasts a battery capacity of 4300 mAh, an upgrade from the 4000 mAh of the Galaxy S25. With 25W wired charging, the phone can reach 50% charge in just 30 minutes. It also supports fast, reverse, and wireless charging. The device runs on Android 16 One UI 8.5, with a promise of 7 OS updates from Samsung.

Samsung also introduced the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the new Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro earbuds.

Our text broadcast partner, ITC, is supported by Comfy, a leading tech retailer in Ukraine. A bonus offer: those who submit their details through the company’s website can enjoy an additional 1500 UAH discount.

The entry-level model sports a design reminiscent of the Galaxy S25, featuring flat glass panels on the front and back with a metal frame. It includes a 6.3-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, a resolution of 2340×1080, and a peak brightness of 2600 nits, all protected by Gorilla Glass Armor 2.

The Galaxy S26 comes with 12 GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 128 GB to 512 GB. However, the 128 GB variant might not be available in Ukraine. Its camera setup includes a 50 MP main sensor, 12 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, plus a 12 MP front camera. The enhancements in photo and video quality are largely reliant on hardware improvements and AI-driven features like Photo Assist and Creative Studio. The Super Steady feature now automatically keeps the horizon level for stable videos, and there’s a new codec for 8K video recording.

The S26+ features a larger 6.7-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display, maintaining a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 2600 nits, with a resolution of 3120×1440. It also runs on the 2 nm Exynos 2600, with 12 GB of RAM and internal storage options of 256 or 512 GB. The camera configuration is identical to that of the Galaxy S26: a 50 MP main camera, 12 MP ultra-wide lens, 10 MP telephoto lens, and a 12 MP front camera. Its battery is slightly larger at 4900 mAh, supporting fast wired charging at 45W, which can charge 69% of the battery in 30 minutes. The smartphone operates on Android 16 One UI 8.5.

Both the Galaxy S26 and S26+ support tri-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6e/7. However, the S26 is equipped with Bluetooth 5.4, whereas the S26+ features Bluetooth 6.0. Both models are water and dust resistant, meeting the IP68 standard, allowing submersion in water up to 1.5 meters for about half an hour. These smartphones will be available in matte finishes of purple, light blue, white, and black.

Gemini users will be able to place orders, view chat records, and more. The voice assistant Bixby is now smarter, answering questions about phone management and other utility functions. The Galaxy browser integrates the AI Perplexity, accessible directly during searches, functioning across all tabs and even the recent history, providing quick answers to queries.

  • Xiaomi 17 Series Set for February 28 Launch: What Updates to Expect?

On February 28, Xiaomi plans to introduce its 17 series smartphones to the European market.

In China, the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Pro Max were unveiled as early as September of the previous year. Following this, in December, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra was released, along with a special Leica Edition. The global launch will take place in Barcelona, just ahead of the Mobile World Congress 2026, where Xiaomi intends to showcase its three flagship models featuring Leica cameras.

The base model, Xiaomi 17, will be offered starting at €999 for the version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The high-end Xiaomi 17 Ultra, introduced in December, will be priced from €1499 for a configuration with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. In terms of colors, the standard Xiaomi 17 will be available in Black, Venture Green, Ice Blue, and Alpine Pink, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will come in Black, White, and Starlit Green.

Initial Insights on Xiaomi 18: An iPhone-like Design and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6

ITC previously reported that Xiaomi does not plan to release the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max models in Europe. These models are equipped with an additional rear display for practical functions, setting them apart from competitors.

Xiaomi invites everyone to attend the launch event through a dedicated page, where prizes will be awarded, and exclusive bonuses will be available for those purchasing the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, or Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi. Besides the base model Xiaomi 17, the company is likely to introduce the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and a special Leica Edition, which will be marketed in the EU under the brand “Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi.”

A countdown timer and hints at exclusive bonuses for early buyers have been posted on Xiaomi’s special page. Several exclusive VIP bonuses have been announced; however, the conditions remain unclear as the link currently redirects users back to the event page. Xiaomi promises a one-year warranty, one free screen replacement within six months, and waived repair fees beyond the warranty period. Considering the high prices of the company’s flagship devices, the bonuses seem relatively modest.
