HBO has unveiled a sneak peek of the new “Harry Potter” series with a central focus on Dominic McLaughlin in the featured image.
Intriguingly, HBO’s caption for the image simply reads, “Tomorrow.” Could this be a tease for the first upcoming trailer?
According to Variety, the exterior of the school has been crafted by production designer Mara LePere-Schloop, known for her work on “Interview with the Vampire” and “Pachinko.”
This fresh adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s novels is being steered by showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod. It is anticipated that each of the seven books will be adapted into a separate season, with the series premiere slated for early 2027.
As for the role of Voldemort, it remains shrouded in speculation. Fans have speculated about Cillian Murphy as a frontrunner, although the actor himself has publicly dismissed these rumors, stating he’s “heard nothing of the sort.” Interestingly, casting has been open to both males and females, suggesting a possible female portrayal in the series.
The “Harry Potter” series will feature over 20 Hogwarts students, promising plenty of Quidditch action.
In the official promotional photo, Harry, played by McLaughlin, stands prominently in his red-and-gold Gryffindor robe, complete with a player number and surname, indicating his readiness for a Quidditch match. In the foreground, a crowd of Hogwarts students can be seen, along with house flags and nods to beloved twins, Ron Weasley’s brothers.
Production for the first season of the “Harry Potter” series is currently underway at Warner Bros. Studios in the United Kingdom. In addition to McLaughlin, the cast includes Alistair Stout (Ron Weasley), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger), John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid), among others.
