The phone’s main power unit acts as a remote display for wireless data transmission and serves as a hub for processing and storing video content, also providing a charging dock for the camera’s battery. While this power method may not suit traditional phones, rugged smartphones typically feature robust batteries. The RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro, in particular, houses a 9000mAh battery.

Ulefone has not disclosed the battery life of the camera; however, it’s unlikely that it can operate independently for extended periods. The rear of the phone also hosts a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 64-megapixel night vision camera. Future models in this series might include additional features like thermal imaging devices, night vision sensors with specialized optics, and interchangeable lenses, including wide-angle and macro options.

  • Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra: Revolutionary Camera Enhancements Anticipated

Insiders have revealed that the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature a larger sensor and support for LOFIC in its primary camera.

Previously, it was reported that the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra might introduce a new facial recognition system called Polar ID, which utilizes polarized light rather than traditional 3D scanning. Additionally, the Galaxy S27 is expected to come with an aluminum body instead of titanium and a camera with a variable aperture.

In a noteworthy insight from renowned insider Digital Chat Station on Weibo, it’s suggested that the flagship phone will incorporate a camera sensor named ISOCELL HPA. While the resolution will remain the same, the sensor size is set to increase to 1/1.12″, along with LOFIC support. This advanced technology enhances the dynamic range by incorporating a dedicated capacitor within each pixel, improving both bright and dark areas of the image.

Expanding on this, Ice Universe added that Samsung is considering a variant called HP6, with a slightly smaller 1/1.3″ sensor, yet delivering comparable performance. This information emerges amid rumors that Apple intends to adopt LOFIC for the iPhone 18 series. Xiaomi’s recent release of the 17 Ultra also employs a similar technology.

Samsung enthusiasts have long awaited improved camera features in the brand’s flagship models. Although the Galaxy S26 differs slightly from its predecessor, most enhancements have been achieved through software advancements. This year’s most significant physical upgrade is the wider aperture on both the main and ultra-wide sensors.

  • Apple Unveils iPhone 17e with A19 Chip and Increased Storage for $599

Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17e, marking the latest addition to its range of budget-friendly smartphones. This announcement is part of a series of presentations the company initiated this week.

The iPhone 17e is powered by the new A19 processor. It also includes support for MagSafe and the Qi2 standard for wireless charging, with a capacity of up to 15W. This advancement ensures compatibility with current magnetic accessories and enables faster wireless charging without the need for additional adapters.

A notable feature of the iPhone 17e is the C1X modem—Apple’s next-generation proprietary solution. According to Apple, the modem delivers double the speed of its predecessor. While specific technical details remain undisclosed, the focus is clearly on improved connection speeds.

The starting price for the Apple iPhone 17e is set at $599 for the 256 GB storage model. Customers can choose from three color options: black, white, and pink.

Similar to the previous iPhone 16e, the new model is equipped with a 6.1-inch Super Retina display. However, Apple has upgraded to the new Ceramic Shield 2 glass, which offers enhanced scratch resistance and reduced glare. The most significant change is the increase in built-in storage capacity. Whereas last year’s base model, the 16e, offered 128 GB, this year’s version doubles the storage to 256 GB without any increase in the starting price.

The camera features a 48-megapixel sensor with Fusion technology, allowing for a two-times optical-quality telephoto zoom. Additionally, the smartphone supports Apple’s advanced portrait mode, which automatically recognizes people, dogs, and cats, retains depth data, and lets users add background blur post-capture.

Alongside these hardware updates, Apple is developing a more personalized version of Siri, utilizing Google’s Gemini AI technology. This new assistant is expected to better understand personal context and perform tasks directly on the screen. Although Apple CEO Tim Cook previously mentioned a spring release for these features, recent reports suggest the launch may be postponed.

The iPhone Air has been reported to experience issues with the Apple C1X modem.

  • Introducing the Google Pixel 10a: Superior Camera Performance for $500

Google has unveiled the Pixel 10a smartphone, boasting it as the device with the best camera system among its competitors in the $500 price range.

Previously, we discussed Google’s rather understated announcement of the Pixel 10a, following which an official render of the device was leaked online.

The Pixel 10a stands as the most robust model in the A series to date. It is certified with IP68 protection against dust and water and features enhanced Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, which offers greater resistance to scratches and drops. The smartphone comes with a 6.3-inch Actua display that is 11% brighter than its predecessor, the Pixel 9a, facilitating easier viewing of photos and videos even under bright sunlight. The screen’s brightness reaches up to 2000 nits, with a peak brightness of 3000 nits.

Google claims that the Pixel 10a is equipped with the finest camera system available for smartphones priced under $500. The main wide-angle camera includes a 48 MP Quad PD Dual Pixel Type 1/2 sensor and an f/1.7 lens with an 82° field of view. This is the same camera featured in the $799 Google Pixel 10. Unlike the Pixel 10, which possesses a 10.8 MP Dual PD telephoto lens with a Type 1/3.2 sensor and 5x optical zoom, the new model does not include a telephoto lens. The Pixel 10a’s rear camera setup also features a 13 MP ultra-wide module with a 120° field of view and a Type 1/3.1 sensor, identical to that of the Pixel 10.

The Pixel 10a is also equipped with a 13 MP front camera offering a 96.1° field of view and an f/2.2 aperture. Camera features include macro photography and a night mode to enhance image quality in low-light conditions. As expected, the smartphone offers AI-powered camera modes, including Auto Best Take, which helps capture optimal group photos by analyzing multiple shots. The Camera Coach feature uses Gemini AI to provide step-by-step guidance on composition and lighting.

The rear camera array allows for 4K video recording at 30 and 60 frames per second, while the front camera supports 4Kp30 resolution. Additional camera features include Audio Magic Eraser, Macro Focus Video, Cinematic Pan, slow-motion support, time-lapse astrophotography mode, and more.

The Pixel 10a showcases a sleek design with a fully flat back panel, unlike the slightly raised camera modules seen in previous Pixel 10 and Pixel Pro models. The new model is crafted from recycled cobalt, copper, gold, and tungsten, with a matte finish, a frame made entirely from recycled aluminum, and a back panel composed of 81% recycled plastic. It is available in unique colors, including “Berry,” “Lavender,” and the more traditional “Mist” and “Obsidian.”

Running on a custom-designed Google Tensor G4 chip, the Pixel 10a supports all the latest Gemini AI features, such as the popular Nano Banana video editor and the Circle to Search image search tool. The phone includes a 5100 mAh battery providing over 30 hours of regular use and up to 120 hours in extreme power-saving mode. It supports fast charging up to 50% in 30 minutes with a 45W USB-C charger, which is sold separately. Additionally, it is compatible with 10W wireless charging using EPP devices via the Qi standard.

The Android 16 QPR2 update has boosted Google Pixel smartphones’ performance, with tests showing a 20% increase in speed.
