Following the recent introduction of the Seal 07 EV, BYD has revealed its latest electric SUV, the BYD Great Tang. This spacious SUV is notable for its impressive range and substantial size.
Despite its length exceeding 5.3 meters, the vehicle remains agile. Thanks to the rear-wheel steering system, it boasts a turning radius of just 5.2 meters, which is surprisingly less than its total length.
Inside, the vehicle offers a seating arrangement for seven passengers in a 2+2+3 layout. Key interior features include:

The comprehensive unveiling of the BYD Great Tang is set for the Beijing Auto Show 2026 at the end of April. The electric vehicle is expected to start at a price of 400,000 yuan, equivalent to approximately $58,000 based on current exchange rates.
This model evolved from the Dynasty-D concept, which was showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show 2025. The production version features BYD’s signature Dragon Face design. The front is highlighted by an elongated LED light strip, reminiscent of “dragon whiskers” according to the company. Other notable exterior elements include semi-concealed door handles and large wheels available in 20 or 21-inch sizes. For enhanced comfort, it is equipped with an air suspension system that adapts in height and stiffness according to the road conditions.
The base version with rear-wheel drive is powered by a 300 kW (402 hp) motor, offering a driving range of up to 950 km on the CLTC cycle. According to BYD, this is sufficient for around 12 hours of driving without needing to recharge. For those seeking performance, an all-wheel-drive version with dual motors is available. In this setup, the total power reaches 585 kW (784 hp), enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, with a range of approximately 850 km.

The vehicle is powered by the second generation of the Blade Battery. According to BYD, this battery is 5% more efficient in energy retention than its predecessor and supports ultra-fast charging. It features a 1000-volt architecture and a Flash charging capability of 1500 kW, allowing the battery to be replenished as swiftly as refueling with gasoline. BYD claims that the second-generation Blade Battery can charge from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes when connected to the latest Flash charging stations. This means owners might barely have time for a quick restroom break during charging stops. Even in temperatures as low as -30°C, the new battery can charge from 20% to 97% in about 12 minutes.
BYD has also updated the Denza Z9 GT: reaching up to 1140 hp and over 1000 km of range.
