    Apple has unveiled its latest MacBook Pro models, featuring the powerful M5 Pro and M5 Max processors. These laptops are available in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes.

    The 16-inch MacBook Pro is equipped with the M5 Pro chip, boasting 18 CPU cores and 20 GPU cores. The same configurations for the M5 Max are also available in the 14-inch version.

    According to Apple, the storage in the new MacBook Pro operates twice as fast as the previous generation, reaching speeds up to 14.5 GB/s. This means users not only benefit from increased storage capacity but also enhanced speed. However, these upgrades have resulted in a price increase.

    Prices have risen across the entire MacBook Pro lineup. The 14-inch model with the M5 chip, previously starting at $1599, now begins at $1699. In this configuration, users receive a doubled base storage of 1 TB.

    The new 14-inch MacBook Pro can be configured with either the M5 Pro or M5 Max chip. The M5 Pro variant offers options of 15 or 18 CPU cores and 16 or 20 GPU cores. Users can choose between 24 or 48 GB of RAM, with the storage starting at 1 TB, up from the previous standard of 512 GB. Those opting for the M5 Max will have 18 CPU cores and options for 32 or 40 GPU cores.

    These laptops also feature Apple’s custom N1 chip, offering Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support. Apple estimates the MacBook Pro’s battery life to last up to 24 hours, with fast charging capable of reaching 50% in just 30 minutes using a 96W or higher adapter. The device retains the Liquid Retina XDR display (up to 1600 nits HDR, 1000 nits SDR), which has been in use for several years, and now includes a 12-megapixel Center Stage front camera. Additional features include studio-quality microphones and a six-speaker audio system with Spatial Audio support. The laptops run on macOS Tahoe, integrated with Apple Intelligence.

    Similarly, the M5 Pro and M5 Max versions see a price rise: the 14-inch M5 Pro model now costs $2199, up from $1999, and the 16-inch version starts at $2699, up from $2499. The standard 16-inch version comes with 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage—double that of the previous generation. The M5 Max option starts with 2 TB of storage and 36 GB of RAM, priced at $3599 for the 14-inch version and $3899 for the 16-inch variant.

    Apple emphasizes the enhanced performance of its latest chips and the laptops they power. The company claims up to a 30% increase in CPU performance and up to a 50% boost in GPU performance compared to the M4 Pro/Max. Thanks to the new Fusion architecture and GPUs equipped with Neural Accelerators in each core, the laptops deliver up to 4× greater AI performance than the previous generation.

    Apple has launched its latest flagship processors, the M5 Pro and M5 Max, designed specifically for professional laptops. These chips are built on Apple’s new in-house developed Fusion architecture.

    The Apple M5 Pro processor is aimed at professionals working in data modeling, audio post-production, and STEM fields. It features an 18-core CPU coupled with a GPU that can scale up to 20 cores, each integrated with a Neural Accelerator. The chip supports up to 64 GB of unified memory with a bandwidth of up to 307 GB/s.

    The GPU’s peak computational power for AI tasks has increased over fourfold compared to the M4 Pro and more than sixfold compared to the M1 Pro. Graphics performance has seen a 20% improvement over the M4 Pro and is 2.2 times better than the M1 Pro. Ray tracing applications exhibit performance gains of up to 35%.

    The Apple M5 Max chip is tailored for 3D animators, developers, and AI researchers. It includes the same 18-core CPU but features a GPU that can scale to 40 cores—twice that of the M5 Pro. The CPU’s multi-threaded performance is 15% higher than that of the M4 Max.

    Both chips incorporate a faster 16-core Neural Engine with enhanced memory bandwidth capabilities for Apple Intelligence functions. Additionally, a new Media Engine is integrated, offering hardware acceleration for H.264, HEVC, AV1 decoding, and ProRes encoding/decoding.

    Apple has introduced Memory Integrity Enforcement—a continuously active memory integrity protection feature that does not compromise performance. Each Thunderbolt 5 port operates via a dedicated on-chip controller.

    The chip supports up to 128 GB of unified memory with a bandwidth reaching 614 GB/s, which is essential for handling complex scenes, large datasets, and generating more tokens in large language models. The GPU’s peak AI performance exceeds the previous generation by more than fourfold and surpasses the M1 Max by more than six times. Graphics performance gains up to 20% over the M4 Max and ray tracing tasks see up to a 30% increase.

    The new M5 Pro and M5 Max processors integrate two third-generation dies within a single system-on-chip (SoC), manufactured using a 3-nm process. Apple employs advanced packaging technology for high bandwidth and low latency. The SoC includes a new CPU, scalable GPU, Media Engine, unified memory controller, Neural Engine, and Thunderbolt 5 support module.

    Both chips feature 18 computational cores: 6 super cores and 12 performance cores. The super cores offer high single-thread performance with enhanced bandwidth, a new cache hierarchy, and improved branch prediction. The performance cores are optimized for energy-efficient multi-threaded tasks. As a result, the M5 Pro and M5 Max deliver up to 2.5 times higher multi-thread performance compared to the M1 Pro and M1 Max, with a 30% performance boost in professional tasks over the M4 Pro/Max.

    The new Apple iPad Air, starting at $599, comes equipped with the M4 chip, 12 GB RAM, and Wi-Fi 7.

    Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17e, marking the latest addition to its range of budget-friendly smartphones. This announcement is part of a series of presentations the company initiated this week.

    The iPhone 17e is powered by the new A19 processor. It also includes support for MagSafe and the Qi2 standard for wireless charging, with a capacity of up to 15W. This advancement ensures compatibility with current magnetic accessories and enables faster wireless charging without the need for additional adapters.

    A notable feature of the iPhone 17e is the C1X modem—Apple’s next-generation proprietary solution. According to Apple, the modem delivers double the speed of its predecessor. While specific technical details remain undisclosed, the focus is clearly on improved connection speeds.

    The starting price for the Apple iPhone 17e is set at $599 for the 256 GB storage model. Customers can choose from three color options: black, white, and pink.

Additionally, the smartphone supports Apple’s advanced portrait mode, which automatically recognizes people, dogs, and cats, retains depth data, and lets users add background blur post-capture.

    Alongside these hardware updates, Apple is developing a more personalized version of Siri, utilizing Google’s Gemini AI technology. This new assistant is expected to better understand personal context and perform tasks directly on the screen. Although Apple CEO Tim Cook previously mentioned a spring release for these features, recent reports suggest the launch may be postponed.
